On 7th May, 1998, I received a dream about two WCG
ministers. These men had moved house, into an older end of terrace, very
‘average’ house. They were a bit cramped for space, but had to make do with
what they had.
They had a satellite dish fixed to a rock on the ground
(of all places!) at the front corner of the house. It was the only place
they could put it, so they asked everyone to be careful they didn’t kick it
when coming in. I talked with them briefly, but it was only small-talk and
uselessly superficial, so I politely departed and waited in my pick-up
parked outside. Helena talked with them inside, while I re-stacked some of
the logs on my truck.
Meaning
The meaning of the dream is this. The move represents the
recent changes in the WCG and the effect such change has had on church
finances. Belts have had to tighten.
The very ordinary house also represents the character of
the teachings which WCG now promotes. Their theological philosophy is no
longer different from the ‘average’ evangelical teaching, which is below par
as far as biblical excellence is concerned. There is much which needs to be
upgraded!
The pitiful WCG is now like this end of terrace house, in
monotonous theological suburbia.
The spiritual state of affairs in the church is
illustrated by the satellite dish which is inappropriately fixed at ground
level. It’s not receiving from God. It’s not in the right position to
receive. And it could so easily get damaged by people coming and going.
This is what the WCG is like, from God’s perspective, and
what these two ministers (who are probably representative of most in the
WCG) are content to tolerate.
These two ministers of the WCG are not going anywhere....
That is, they’re not going ahead in any worthwhile way. They’ve decided to
stay put, to consign themselves to an ‘end-of-terrace’ existence. They’re
not improving their situation, spiritually.
In contrast, the dream conveyed my dissatisfaction with
the status quo in the church – which should come as no surprise to anyone
reading what I have written about the WCG! I wanted to move on, depicted by
the pick-up truck. This is a working vehicle, which is used for carrying
loads and getting jobs done.
I was not satisfied with the spiritual superficiality of
conversation with these men. So, I attended to some of my ‘logs’ while
Helena patiently talked with them.
What do logs do? They burn. They keep the fire going.
There is a fire of revival coming – which most WCG folk know nothing about!
We are preparing for that by stacking up logs to burn when the fire of God
falls. Want to know more? Then write to us for some literature so that
revival can come your way!
I’m afraid I haven’t got time for ministers who are still bent on
promoting deceptions; who think they are something special but who are
deceived and who don’t want to turn from their deception. Such men know my
fuse is now much shorter than it was 12 years ago. If they want to reason
with us, they will have to talk to Helena, not me!
