The dream conveys how God has His ways of influencing
others. He sows His seeds of truth in one place, the wind of the Spirit
spreads them elsewhere. They may lie dormant for some time, but they
germinate according to God's timing and bring forth fruit for the Kingdom of
God.
Such is the influence of written material. As the story
of the Bible's preservation testifies, writings stay around a long time when
God has a purpose for them.
We have had other dreams in which God has shown that what
we are involved in for Him will bear fruit and shake the Worldwide Church of
God to its foundations. Some of this shaking has already occurred.
What is sacrosanct in the WCG is its authority structure.
Hierarchic rule – which I discussed briefly in the previous section (WCG
Callousness) – gives church leaders the ability to condition and control
the minds of their subjects. This is why WCG leaders are very careful to
monitor and vet any other spiritual teachers who may influence their
members. It is also why they repudiate prophets like me and ‘do their
damnedest’ to keep true prophets out of their church.
But, what was written in God’s Church – Whose
Authority? was not written just by me. Nor could I write that sort of
stuff alone. It was revealed by the Holy Spirit and I was merely a physical
vehicle for its transmission.
(The reference to Isaiah and Ephesians symbolise the most
significant books – because of their teaching – to me, both past and future.
God used Isaiah to enlighten me at the start of my ministry; Ephesians is a
capstone.)
The dream which follows illustrates obliquely how WCG mentors vie for
this influence against that which God sends via His prophets (in this
instance, me – although there are other prophets elsewhere).
