Dream Diary relating to the WCG (Part 9)

When a prophet of the Lord is among you, I reveal Myself to him in visions, I speak to him in dreams (Numbers 12:6, NIV).
(H = Helena’s dream. M = Malcolm’s dream, etc.)

He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit is saying to the churches (Rev 2:7).

These are merely SOME of the revelations in dreams which concern the Worldwide Church of God (WCG).

Healing The Masses

14th Sept 2011. M. Healing offered to the masses.

I was standing in a big auditorium. Thousands of people were there. I was standing behind the platform from which a man was talking to the people with a microphone. He turned around and looked at me, perhaps wondering what I was doing there. I wanted to talk to the people, but he didn’t ask me. I was there to offer healing to them. I got the impression that it was a WCG meeting, like a festival.

It seemed that the meeting ended and we found ourselves somewhere else. I was with a small group of people in a house when the man walked in. He was a coloured man, not white. I told him that I wanted to speak to the people to offer them healing. I said if I could talk to them they would be healed, not all of them, but many of them would. He heard me but I didn’t wait for his response, I just said “Let’s go!” and we went back to the meeting.

There I took the microphone and asked the people, who were standing around talking, to take their seats again. especially those who were sick and needed healing, and to get any other sick people who had gone outside and bring them back into the auditorium. The dream ended there.

Meaning: This is an allegory of how we have been ignored by church leaders (the man on the platform). Yet we have the truth which sets people free and brings them healing. The time is shortly coming when the truth we possess can be given to the people so they can be healed, both spiritually and physically.

We don’t have to stand before an audience to give them what they need. It is available via the literature. As they are hungry for what God offers them, and begin to heed, He will come to them and give them what they need.

Hollow CoG Teachings

14th Dec 2011. M. HWA.

People were playing a recording of Herbert W Armstrong over the web, giving the impression that he was still alive. The recording was made in the bathroom, by the sound of it. There was a sort of metallic echo with water dripping faintly in the background.

Comment: HWA was the leader of the Worldwide Church of God until his death in 1986. When the WCG split in the nineties, many splinter churches formed calling themselves Churches of God with individual names. Most of these groups still hold to the doctrines HWA espoused.

The dream is an allegoric portrayal of that fact. They are really just promoting the teachings of a man, not of Christ. And their churches are as hollow as the sound of that empty bathroom. Water certainly was not flowing, just faintly dripping. It wasn’t a homely sound. That’s a portrayal of the amount of Spirit in their groups.

Intercession: Thousands Saved!

On 15th December 2011, Helena was praying for those who are persecuted, and for those who are weak and need help. God then gave me a vision of a huge highway leading up a mountain. It was a long journey up the mountain. Crowds of people dressed in white were ascending this highway towards God’s kingdom.

Helena saw many, many thousands going up. God was showing her how very many people have been, and are being, helped by her untiring intercession, and brought into relationship with God through Jesus, and who will be saved. She says, “When we intercede and bear burdens we rarely see the results. God wants us to sacrifice and help others who are weak or desperate.”

Stupid Vain Mentality

2nd February 2012. M. “Bossy boots”.

I was at some sort of convention. Gerry Van der Wende was behind the counter in a position of administration. He was ordering people about, giving them jobs to do. It was his way of asserting his authority over them. He told me to change the air filter in the Toyota and gave me the filter but not the keys. I didn’t know who the car belonged to, where it was, or where the keys were and he didn’t say. He was totally unreasonable.

Then he told me to get a duster and dust the whole room. It was a ridiculous command and I said so. I told him that there was no need to dust the room; people would ‘dust’ it by their very presence, coming and going. Some others agreed with me.

Meaning: Gerry was a deacon in the WCG who was also given the ‘position’ of preaching short messages. That made him think he was important and a ‘notch’ higher than others on some imagined pecking order. His pride ruined him spiritually. There was no Spirit of God present in his life because he relied upon human works for salvation. The fruits and gifts of the Spirit were substituted by the empty ritualism which the dream portrays allegorically.

God is making an example of that man, because he opposed us and rejected our witness and dismissed the things of the Spirit which we presented, like so many others in that dead ‘church’. It was a cult, birthed by a man, where teachings denied the moving of the Spirit of God, and where members were expected to follow men who were put in the place of God by their authority structure.

God Is Speeding Us Along

26th June 2012. M. Going to the concert.

I was going on a journey on my bike. Suddenly there was a sign up ahead – handwritten! – of a diversion and of a 19 mph speed limit imposed. I looked at my speedo and I was doing more than 19 mph, but didn’t slow down. I still exceeded the speed limit. It seemed I couldn’t slow down!

The diversion became a long straight road. I was really shifting! Travelling seemed effortless, swift and smooth [how the Spirit ‘carries’ you] – so much so, that I wondered whether it was downhill. It must have been dark around because I looked behind me to see if my rear light was lit up. I saw the red light, reliably on. But in front of me it didn’t seem dark. I could see where I was going as if it was daylight.

When I arrived in the city (like London) with my friend (he must have been behind me somewhere, though I didn’t see him as I was riding along) I realised I had not brought the two tickets with me. I would have to go and get them. We stopped outside a big theatre. I said, “Well, this is a start. We can begin here.”

(The friend was someone I had known in the WCG, but whom I now realise was unconverted and a false believer.) I asked him where we could meet up after I had fetched the tickets, but he was noncommittal. He just talked about his business. He had a coach that had 42 seats and he was now transporting more people and the 42-seater was insufficient. He said he had to buy a bigger one. He needed a 44-seater. He was all engrossed in his business ventures. The dream ended there.

Meaning: This is a parody of my spiritual journey after exiting our former church, which is represented by the diversion – going another route that God is taking us. The effortless, swift and smooth ride represents how God has sped us along this route. He has made it all possible and has propelled us along by His Spirit.

Dark represents the evil world around, and much of the state of the Church.

The concert is revival to which we are headed. Leaving the tickets behind is a way to portray the delay before arriving at this episode of our journey.

The theatre may represent something to do with publicity, where the public can see a ‘performance’.

The former church friend is a representation of how those people are engrossed in physical or material pursuit and are not connected with the things of the Spirit because of their wrong motivation in life.

42 is human evil (6) combined with the things of God (7). What he really needs is the inspired writings (11) (which God has given us) to change his worldly (4) ways. There is a certainty/surety (2) of God’s inspiration/guidance (22) in these which can take people to their destination.

People Who Want To Be Noticed

30th July 2012. M. People who are a nuisance.

I received a prophetic word and wanted to write it down before I forgot it. (I have a bad memory.) So I went into the next room to get my notepad. There was a lot of hubbub in there; people were milling around and socialising. As I tuned in to the Spirit again and started to receive the word again, a man came along and deliberately bumped me on the arm. It was meant as a friendly, “hello Malcolm”, sort of gesture. He wanted me to notice him. That was the motive behind the ‘greeting’. But it had the opposite effect. At that moment I lost ‘the connection’ and lost the prophetic word. I was annoyed and didn’t respond to him.

Comment: This man was a former WCG member who left because he didn’t get what he wanted for himself. But he also left the truth. He ditched biblical truth in his search for what he wanted for himself. He was on an ego trip.

Meaning: The dream highlights the problem of false Christians in our midst. They block the flow of God’s Spirit. They are not led by the Spirit and they hinder others who are so led.

Wanting Revenge

23rd Aug 2012. M. Wanting to get his own, back.

A young woman with a frizzy hairdo (Afro type – symbolising demonic influences in the mind) was trying to get near me to clip my ear. Apparently I had been cheeky to her some time before and she was wanting to get her own back on me for it. What I had done was not done in malice, yet she was trying to “get her own, back”.

She wanted to get a copy of God’s Church – Whose Authority? but I didn’t have one on me at the time.

Meaning: This dream was about someone in the past whom I had poked fun at. He was a WCG minister and had not dealt with a serious spiritual issue, but had gone along with the apostasy taking place in that ‘church’. As a result they did not believe ‘our’ prophecies about the raising of the dead. When Mars changed the name of their chocolate bar to “Believe”, I bought one and sent it to him, with a quip about it. I can’t remember now what I wrote, but it was poking fun at his lack of belief to highlight it as God does to the wayward (unbelief is a MASSIVE sin!). If this is the person in question (it may be someone else also), the dream reveals that he holds a grudge against me for that incident.

I’m sure many Israelite leaders held a grudge against Isaiah when he used the epithet “Sodom” to refer to them (Is 1:10).

Perhaps wanting God’s Church – Whose Authority? means that he wants to check it out and see if I’ve got that issue straight. They would want to find fault with me over that, if they could, because their authority is in question and I have questioned it and shown it to be empty.

The Narrow Way To Safety

8th February 1996. M. The Narrow Way to Safety.

I dreamed we were driving along a wide road, like a main trunk route [symbolises our journey in life]. There was a lot of traffic. Our destination was the coast.

Suddenly, to my left, I saw a little road. It was really a path, but just wide enough for a car. It went uphill and was stepped. [This depicts symbolically the route of being led by God’s Spirit.] There was another car [symbol of another ministry] going ahead of us the same way and we turned off the main route onto this narrow way. Somehow I knew instinctively it was a direct route to where we wanted to go. (The other traffic on the main road was going to the coast, but it was a longer way round.)

As we drove up this path, the car in front of us was motoring fast, but we caught up with it.

One car was coming downhill the other way [the WCG]. We moved out of the way to let it pass [the WCG’s spiritual downfall], and kept on going uphill. At the top of the hill, we came to a T-junction. We followed the other car and continued to our destination.

The next scene was at our destination. There was a bedroom in which one felt really safe. It was as if it was carved out of solid rock. Helena lay on the bed and praised God. Every part of her praised God, even her knee! [She had a damaged knee at that time.]

Outside this sanctuary there was a walkway where many others could walk up and down. We were not alone. This walkway was like a covered verandah – carved out of solid rock. I looked out over the sea from this point and had a panoramic view. I could see so much from this vantage point! [MM has been given spiritual vision by God.] It was about 50 feet above the sea. [The sea is a metaphor for the world, and 50 symbolises release from debts and bondage.] There was a sheer drop to beach below. The place where we were staying was like a fortress.

Interpretation: The mighty God is our Rock, our Fortress and our Guide (Ps 18:2; Jn 14:6). He is leading us by the narrow way to the safety that is in Him.

The sea is people or the world. He is taking us to the place where we can have His viewpoint of things and situations.

Others will be there too. We won’t be alone. ‘Petra’ is our place of safety. He is our ‘Petra’ or Rock. We are safe in Him and can rest and rejoice in Him.

The car coming downhill as we were going up is the WCG which is now declining spiritually. It is moving away from Him, going in the wrong direction.

Power To Witness Coming Soon!

28th February 2002. Kassahun Ayele, Ethiopia.

In a dream (of last night) I found myself in a church on the Sabbath. At first it seemed to me that the church was a big house, but afterwards I saw that it is a wide hall!

I entered and sat down on a pew. I saw you [Malcolm] and your family, including Richard with others, sit down on the pews here and there. There were only a few of us [few are chosen, Matt 22:14]. There was no one on the platform.

Then I saw a tall man wearing a cloth suit [this is either Jesus or an angel representing Him]. He approached the pulpit but didn’t go up to it. I was astonished. He began to speak and said, “I notice that the pews are empty.” His gaze focused on those of us who were present. He said to us, “You are faithful witnesses. I congratulate you on your courage, faith and steadfastness. Stay faithful to God.”

Light was radiating from our faces.

The man added, “Be of good courage, soon you will receive a power which will give you strength and vigour. You will be sustained with a holy zeal as never before. Be faithful. The night is approaching quickly. Your task and mission in the world are still not completed. Soon you will receive the power that God promises to His children and very soon the work will be finished.”

MM Revival

Dec. 9/01. Kassahun. It seems that I was in your cellar in a meeting. The room was filled with many people. We were all singing with praise. Helena was leading us in the song. You were also praising our Lord standing there beside Helena.

The room was filled with the Holy Spirit and everyone was bathed in a powerful light. Our clothes became white.

At this point there was much prophesying, revelation and tongues. Some praised God with loud voices. Some were praying with tears. The scene was unforgettable. I heard a voice saying that this is the coming revival through MM. After this I awoke.

Comment: When the Spirit comes with power, there are unusual manifestations and effects upon people that are wonderful and unforgettable!
