RAISED
from the DEAD
4
Why should any of you consider it
incredible that God raises the dead? (Acts 26:8, NIV.)
Jesus called His twelve disciples to Him and gave them
authority to drive out evil spirits and to cure every kind of disease and
sickness (Matt 10:1, NIV).
Jesus said: “Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse those
who have leprosy, drive out demons” (Matt 10:8, NIV).
Testimony of Iheoma Nwachukwu
(Husband
of the deceased, Iheoma Nwamara Iheoma, who was raised from the dead by
David Isaac Ohuoba.)
On 30th June 2005, history was made in
the life of Mrs Iheoma Iheoma of Umuagu in Ikeala Ahiaba Autonomous
Community Obingwa LGA of Abia State, Nigeria.
On that fateful day, Iheoma was
completely dead. But to the Lord be glory. I thank Him for David Isaac
Ohuoba of Ohuru, a faithful man of God, who prayed to God for life to be
restored, and it was restored according to the word of the Lord.
On 30th June, Iheoma was normal. There
was a burial taking place that day at their compound. She was cooking in her
kitchen. After some time she started feeling weak, then she started
complaining that she didn’t know what was happening to her, but everybody
thought that it was just a minor complaint.
She carried on serving the people with
the food that she had cooked for the people attending the burial, not
knowing that Satan had a big plan through a woman her husband was
befriending. This occultic woman (witch) charmed her to death because she
wanted to take over her husband.
Sister Chinenye told them that they
should take her or carry her to a man of God, because people have testified
about him. So her husband and a sister took her to pastor Ohuoba’s house and
when he saw her, he began to pray.
As he was praying, the Lord who is
using him answered. He prayed for four hours and God answered him; she
awoke.
Then in the night, another attack came.
Her attackers tied her with a rope and cut her throat with a knife to kill
her. She started coughing up blood through her mouth and nose. But to the
glory of God she survived the attack. [More about this is in the account
overpage.]
I want to use this medium to let the
people around us know, and to tell all the people around the world of what
God has done through David Isaac of Ohuru.
Iheoma Nwachukwu (husband)
Statement
I, her sister, Tina Chinenye Godwin,
who sent her to the pastor’s house, and Iheoma’s husband Mr Iheoma Robert,
and other people, were present when this thing happened.
We and Pastor Isaac Ohuoba of Uhuru
were at 53C Omoba Road, Opposite Zone 6, Aba.
I want to use this opportunity to let
people know about him, and man whom God uses mightily to do miracles. I pray
that God will give him more anointing and wisdom in his calling, and to give
him and his family good health, vision and prosperity in Jesus’ name.

Testimony of David Isaac Ohuoba
I am very happy reporting that the good
God has raised His mighty hand on Midnight Supernatural Prayer Ministry once
again.
From the 29th June to 1st July 2005, we
were having three days and three nights of prayers. On 29th June 2005 we
reviewed the truth about speaking in tongues, after we read MM’s booklet
Why The Holy Spirit?
The Power in the Gift of Tongues
Biblical and historical proof says that
the Pentecostal phenomenon of speaking in tongues creates widespread
controversy, which is still evident in modern christendom. Without the
knowledge of the truth, which only comes to an honest heart by divine
revelation, many have misunderstood the purpose of tongues.
Do not be confused by theories of men.
Learn the truth about this important subject.
Initial Evidence of the Holy Spirit Baptism
Isaiah prophesied that “with stammering
lips and another tongue”, God would speak to this people (Is 28:11).
Very well then, with foreign lips
and strange tongues God will speak to this people (Is 28:11, NIV).
In the Great Commission, Jesus said,
“And these signs shall follow them that believe; they shall speak with new
tongues” (Mark 16:17).
The wind blows wherever it pleases.
You hear its sound, but you cannot tell where it comes from or where it is
going (Jn 3:8, NIV).
As the sound of the wind blowing is the
evidence of its presence, so is the sound of speaking in tongues [an]
evidence of the Holy Spirit baptism.
When the day of Pentecost had fully
come, they were all with one accord in one place. And suddenly there came a
sound from heaven, as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled the whole
house where they were sitting. Then there appeared to them divided tongues
of fire, and one sat upon each of them. And they were all filled with the
Holy Spirit and began to speak in tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance
(Acts 2:1-4, NKJV).
The initial evidence of the Holy Spirit
upon the 120 disciples was witnessed by devout Jews out of every nation.
They said one to another:
Look, are not all these who speak
Galileans? And how is it that we hear, each in our own language in which we
were born? (Acts 2:7,8, NKJV).
Then Peter preached:
But this is what was spoken by the
prophet Joel:
And it shall come to pass in the last days, says God, that I will pour out
of My Spirit on all flesh... (Acts 2:16,17, NKJV, also from Joel 2:28).
Having received from the Father the
promise of the Holy Spirit, He poured out this which you now see and hear
(Acts 2:33, NKJV).
Cornelius and his household spoke in
tongues when they were baptized with the Holy Spirit:
...the gift of the Holy Spirit had
been poured out on the Gentiles also for they heard them speak with tongues
and magnify God (Acts 10:45,46).
Peter confirmed that “the Holy Spirit
fell upon them as upon us at the beginning” (Acts 11:15).
The believers in Ephesus spoke in
tongues when they received the Holy Spirit baptism. When Paul laid hands on
them the Holy Spirit came upon them and they spoke in tongues and prophesied
(Acts 19:6).
When the Samaritans received the Holy
Spirit by the laying on of the apostles’ hands there were miraculous signs
like those previously experienced. This prompted Simon the sorcerer to offer
money to buy this power that on whomsoever he laid hands, he may receive the
Holy Spirit (Acts 8:17-19). [This Simon was probably the one later hailed as
the ‘first pope’, not the apostle Peter, who never went to Rome.]
According to the biblical signs that
follow believers, there should be no doubt that the Samaritans received the
Holy Spirit with the same evidence of speaking in tongues as was evidenced
at Pentecost, Caesarea and Ephesus (see Acts 8:5-25).
The apostle Paul was filled with the
Spirit and spoke in tongues (Acts 9:17; 1 Cor 14:18). History also proves
that speaking in tongues was the most common evidence of the Holy Spirit
baptism in the early Church and has not ceased to be a biblical experience
among believers today.
Encyclopedia Britannica, 1972
edition, vol 27, p 75: “Tongues speaking manifested itself early in the
Christian experience and has not ceased.”
At Pentecost, the gift appeared as a
sign of the indwelling of the Holy Spirit, which marked the character of the
earliest Christians. During later church history, glossolalia (speaking in
tongues) occurred among mendicant friars of the 13th century, the Little
Prophets of Cevennes, the Janesenites, the Irvidngites and others. In modern
times glossolalia has been found chiefly among Holiness and Pentecostal
groups.
Personal Devotion To God
Tongues are also manifested in a
believer’s personal life of prayer and worship. They serve as a means of his
secret communication with God in the Spirit. These tongues are not meant to
be understood by men. Therefore they need no interpretation.
For he who speaks in a tongue does
not speak to men but to God, for no one understands him; however, in the
spirit he speaks mysteries (1 Cor 14:2, NKJV).
The Spirit itself maketh
intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered (Rom 8:26, KJV).
Paul said “if I pray in an unknown
tongue, my spirit prayeth, but my understanding is unfruitful. What is it
then? I will pray with my spirit, and I will pray with my understanding
also. I will sing with the spirit, and I will sing with my understanding
also.” (From 1 Cor 14.)
These devotional tongues are for the
personal edification of the believer. They are for self encouragement and
uplifting of his spirit. Paul said “he that speaketh in an unknown tongue
edifieth himself” (1 Cor 14:4). So the apostle gladly stated, “I thank my
God I speak in tongues more than ye all” (1 Cor 14:18). Praise God.
Demons Must Flee
On 30th June our topic was Demons Must
Flee, from Midnight literature entitled Casting Out Demons. We learnt
that we should not be fooled by the pride-filled pronouncements that your
spiritual warfare can take cities for Christ. Casting out demons is only for
those who listen to the Spirit.
Ironically many of the great men of
God, the elevated evangelical and charismatic leaders of today are not in
tune with the Spirit of God. They have become lifted up by pride and
presumption, and deceived by false notions of a vaunted agenda that is not
biblical but which sounds good to unsuspecting ears. They need to realise
that it is not time for Jesus to set up His Kingdom on earth and defeat all
demons. And when it is His time, He won’t be needing those evangelists’ help
in the physical sense. Jesus’ return as a conquering King is for the future
(Rev 19) [but not far away; it is very close], not for now.
God is calling out His chosen ones to
come out of this world, to be different, spiritually set apart. They are a
little flock (Luke 12:32), persecuted (Jn 15:20), a minority who appear
pretty powerless by the world’s reckoning. They are not ‘an army’ raised up
to try and change the world, but to change themselves and to be a
light in the world.
This should be the main thrust of
spiritual warfare! And it is also the main thrust of Jesus’ words about
casting out demons.
You can’t cast demons out of others in
the world, but you can cast them out of you, and out of others
who also want to live by the truths of God. For that cause, He has
granted you all power over demonic forces!
So, if you truly want His righteousness
(Matt 6:33), you can expel demons, and nothing will harm you (Luke 10:19).
The Roots of Satan’s Strongholds
If there is one thing proud Christians
don’t want to know, it is that they could be ‘carriers’ of evil spirits!
What could hurt their pride more than that?
And coupled with that pride is fear.
What if others find out that they might have had demons dwelling in them?
And, worse still, what if they see those demons exposed and put out? These
fears and more haunt some believers when they first realise how much power
the dark underworld still exerts in the Church.
But Jesus says:
Do not fear, little flock, it is
your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom (Luke 12:32, NKJV).
When you allow Jesus fully into your
life – and that takes place in stages, through the course of your spiritual
life – He drives out demons by the Spirit of God (Matt 12:28), bringing you
true freedom, so that you become a habitation for God.
Praise the Lord, as I was coming back
from that day’s programme at Umuagu village, I saw many people running as if
there was a war. As I arrived at a nearby village called Umunwankwo, I
entered into a store to purchase Peak Millic and Maltina and to find out
what was happening.
The storeman told me that they were
having a burial ceremony and that a lady fell down and died. Then members of
the church ran away about 2 pm. The doctors and nurses that came to the
burial examined her and said that she is dead. People started to find their
way home.
When I got home about 3.30 pm, I
started to prepare my lesson for tomorrow’s programme. The topic of the
lesson I was preparing was God’s Word Calls For Doers, scripture
reading James 1:16-25. The verse for memory was taken from James 1:21, which
says “lay aside all filthiness and overflow of wickedness, and receive with
meekness the implanted word, which is able to save your souls.”
The Aim: to review God’s
bountiful benefits to humanity. His provision for spiritual birth and
renewal; His word for daily guidance; and His model of constant
faithfulness.
That is where I stopped.
A car drove in, carrying a dead woman
named Iheoma Nwamara Iheoma. Immediately the car stopped, the lady sounded
the horn for help. My daughter and one of the orphans living with me went
out and helped them carry her in the prayer house where I was preparing my
lesson.
As they laid her on the floor at 4 pm,
I looked to Jesus for help. The Spirit of God reminded me of Christ’s
travail. This was to indicate the type of prayer I had to offer. The
prayers reached a high intensity, like Jesus:
Who, in the days of His flesh, when
He had offered up prayers and supplications, with vehement cries and tears
to Him who was able to save Him from death, and was heard because of His
godly fear (Heb 5:7, NKJV).
After reading this scripture, fear
vanished and I started praying with tears to God for an hour. I checked.
There was no sign of life. I continued praying until 10 pm, when God
revealed that the occultic (witchcraft) people had locked her heart [caused
her heart to stop].
As I cried in tongues to God, “You are
the Master who holds the key to life. Open the padlock and let her be free
in Jesus’ name,” she opened her eyes and started saying, “They chained me;
they locked my heart, and put me in the sea.”
Oh! I was totally exhausted!
She started coughing blood from her
mouth and nose. So I told her husband to take her to the hospital for a
check up. She replied “I will not go. If you send me to hospital the evil
forces will come back again to take the life God has restored.”
As they went to fetch a car, I prayed
to God in tongues again, asking Him if she will die. The Spirit of God
replied, “She will not die. Allow her to stay with you.”
To prove that, the Spirit said, “They
will not find any car available for her. Then you will know that My word is
only the truth.”
As they came back there was no car
available for her. People told them to allow her to stay in “that powerful
prayer house” otherwise they would have to send her to the mortuary.
By this time she relapsed and she could
not recognise anyone, not even her husband. God told me to continue praying
until she is totally healed. I continued praying night and day without going
out.
On the 7th July 2005 at night she
called me, “Sir I had a dream.”
The Angels Bring God’s Healing To Iheoma
She said “After your 1 am - 3 am
prayers, two nurses in white clothes came in and dressed my heart where I
was wounded. They healed all my bones, touched my legs, and told me to start
to walk normally. As they went away, I stood up by myself, which I had not
been able to do since 29th June 2005.”
God has healed Iheoma Nwamara Iheoma
and restored her life. He has brought her back to the land of the living.
The name Iheoma means
Goodness; Nwamara means Grace. Praise the living God for
His goodness and grace! Hallelujah!
