And Objections to the Work of Midnight Ministries

This letter is typical of the sort of opposition we receive about our prophetic witness [my comments follow in square brackets]:

Letter undated, received 7th October 2010

Dear Mr Heap,

I just finished reading some of your articles about David Hathaway and Reinhard Bonnke. You call these two men false prophets. [No, I don’t call Reinhard false. Read what I do say about him more carefully. One excerpt is below.]

You have been writing several letters to D Hathaway, which you printed on your website. To some of them you received a written answer which you comment. Why do you not print the letters you received from D Hathaway? [Because they don’t add anything of worth to the points being raised.] How do we know that your comments to these answers are correct? [If you had a proper connection to God, you could ask Him.] That’s one thing.

Another thing is that you claim to be a true prophet and that you know the absolute truth about the Bible which I must doubt. [What God has said about me to others in faraway countries is revealed in More Than A Prophet. One sample is below. I did not write that. I have merely reported what God has said to others who have received MM literature. God gives signs. Your duty is to believe the signs, not find fault with what God says.]

A true Christian who is accusing most well-known evangelists over the whole world and who pretends to be the only one knowing biblical truth, to me is as much of a false prophet as the other ones you accuse. [I agree – if the accusations are false, but not if the points being raised are true. A prophet’s duty is to “cry aloud, spare not, and show My people their sins” (Is 58:1). That’s God’s commission on his life, not of the prophet’s own will. Furthermore, I do not claim to be the only one knowing biblical truth. My function is to restore biblical truth that the majority are unaware of, and which God has revealed to me.]

Your opinion and statements about the end time prophecies in Revelation lack of real understanding [you are welcome to your opinion] as well as the ones of D Hathaway’s. I strongly recommend to you the book about end time prophecies by Steve Wohlberg, the only person I know so far who brings light into the darkness. [Aren’t you now contradicting yourself? A moment ago you asserted that if I claim to “be the only one knowing biblical truth”, I am a false prophet. Yet, here you assert that Wohlberg is the only one who has a grip on the prophetic. By your criterion of judgement, then, you should classify him as a false prophet.]

We are all just human beings [of course, I do not suggest otherwise] with a very limited understanding [some are more limited than others – but God has raised up light-bringers and sent them into the darkness, which is unreceptive to their message], but many of us believe that they are the ones who know the truth, the right truth, and they are the ones who are the true Christians and they know who will be saved and who not. [The truth about this subject is written in MM’s booklet The Mark of a True Christian, not on the web, but available by writing to MM.] This is what you also think about yourself, right? [Wrong. We have stated in various publications what our function in the Body is. It’s a pity you didn’t read all that first before jumping to a wrong conclusion.]

Maybe you also need some correction, Mr Heap, as we all do from time to time. [Yes. No one is above correction. God corrects me when I need it. My duty is to fulfil His purpose in giving His words of correction, exhortation, admonition and encouragement to those for whom He sends me. And I don’t need others to tell me I’m wrong in following His lead.]

My letter is not very nice and not really polite. [Don’t worry. You are forgiven for that when you come to see the light.] You know why? Because I find it not so helpful to compliment someone (as you do in your letters to D Hathaway) when you disagree with and write against the person. [I think she means something negative, not positive like ‘compliment’.]

Have a good day and enjoy reading Steve Wohlberg’s book. [There are countless books available, but the acid test of their usefulness is whether they come with God’s affirmation or approval. What independent, supernatural commendation is there to verify the authenticity of the person’s work, like I provide below?]

Cynthia hides. No address was provided, otherwise I could have sent her my reply. Clearly she didn’t want a reply from me. She was only out to find fault and criticise, and thought she was dead right and that I am dead wrong.

Pride. This type of faultfinding is characteristic of a person who is blind to their own failure to receive all that God offers them. That is rooted in pride. They think they are in the right place with God, but can’t see that their pride shuts him out. Other spirits rule.

Idolatry. She is upset by ‘my’ comments that expose D Hathaway – comments, by the way, that stem from revelations about him in dreams from God. Why is she upset? Because he is an idol to her. Wohlberg could be another idol. Idolatry, no matter how subtle, is sin. Sin leads to deception and blindness. The only way out of the pit such folks are in is repentance and turning back to God in full obedience from the heart. But such turnaround cannot happen without trials of correction from God. Sometimes they can be very severe (Heb 12:6).

Reinhard Bonnke. I do not call Reinhard Bonnke a false minister. If Cynthia had carefully read what I have written, instead of ignoring much of it, she would see this:

Jesus inferred that we are to look at the SPIRITUAL fruits (Matt 7:15-20). Although He said those words in the context of assessing whether those who come in Jesus’ name are false – and Reinhard is not false, He is a true man of God – the principle covers all human endeavour.

The spiritual fruits of Reinhard’s life are good. They include virtues listed in Galatians 5:22-24. I am not ‘knocking’ Reinhard as a man of God. Please don’t get me wrong.

What is not ideal, and which needs correction, are some of the aspects of approach in his ministry that need to be brought into line with God’s will.... (From Reinhard Bonnke, Evangelism and God’s Will, p 1.)

Resentment. Cynthia resents me for my office. Why are true prophets so detested? Because human nature resents the correction they bring from God. People don’t want to change. Their pride resists reformation.

She says: “you claim to be a true prophet and that you know the absolute truth about the Bible which I must doubt.” When Elijah was raised up to challenge God’s nation about its failure to obey Him, Elijah had the absolute truth of God for that time. No one should balk at the claim if it can be substantiated by signs and wonders, and by the revelations from God that provide His commendation which Paul describes in 2 Corinthians 10:18. MM has that. Anyone who doubts should read More Than A Prophet and wait and see the miracles that God will soon do in bringing people back from the dead who have been dead for years.

Cynthia resents the insight and discernment which God gives prophets. But every true prophet is given a spiritual gift of discerning of spirits. There are various gifts in this sphere. One manifestation is in revelation from God that a particular person is a false believer. This is not given for any other reason than to protect the Church from wolves who lead astray.

God’s commendation (2 Cor 10:18).

Here is an excerpt from the article Reinhard Bonnke and the Numeric Signs:

...several men in Africa wrote and told me of what God said to them in visions or dreams:

1. At that time I heard a voice telling me: "Nicholas, tell Malcolm that God has chosen him to teach people and feed them with the truth." (Revelations From God About Midnight Ministries, p 8.)

2. I saw Somebody in a white garment (robe) holding Malcolm's hand. He took Malcolm into a High Mountain. When Malcolm returned from the mountain his face was shining like a star. Helena and Zenya welcomed him with joy and we got together and praised God for what happened.

I replied to him about his dream:

Your dream shows Jesus holding my hand, taking me into a high mountain, which symbolises the Throne Room of God, from where I have received inspiration to write all MM's publications. You saw me shining like a star. Moses' face shone after he came down the mountain after being with God (Ex 34:29-35).

The dream is to confirm to you that anointing upon me, not for my sake, but for the sake of the truth that God is conveying through us, most especially in the writings. Righteousness is being restored! (Revelations From God About Midnight Ministries, p 11.)

3. In this dream an angel appeared on the roof of my home. The house was shaken. I went to see what was happening and there was an angel hovering over the top of my home, not far away. He was holding in his hand a large scroll. I couldn't see what was written on the scroll because it was a little bit too far away. I called out to the Angel that I couldn't see what was written on the scroll, so he came swiftly to where I stood and gave me the scroll.

There were written there some warnings in red letters [red symbolises warnings, especially to do with war]. There were quotations from the book of Ezekiel 5 and Ezekiel 21:8-32, Rev 9 and 13. THE ANGEL SAID TO ME TWICE: "The end of the world has come; THE END OF THE WORLD HAS COME! Go out and tell the warnings written in this scroll."

I began to cry. I couldn't control my tears. [The overwhelming presence of the Spirit of God.] I said to him: "This is a huge responsibility. I can't take it. Please tell Malcolm what you have said to me."

But he said: "Tell Malcolm what I've said to you and together with others warn My people. I will visit Malcolm soon." And the Angel left. [When angels visit they impart revelation, or deliver from trouble, or in some other important way, work out the plan of God.] (Revelations From God About Midnight Ministries, p 12.)

4. I saw Malcolm in the house. He was clothed with gabbi. (Traditional garment of Ethiopia. It is very white. People dress in it in winter to be warm.)

He was writing something very powerful which revolutionised the whole world. I was very encouraged by his commitment. (What God Said About Midnight Ministries, pp 2-3.)

5. Suddenly I saw you with Helena. [We will be revealed to the world suddenly, through publicity as God raises 50 people from the dead.] Then I heard a voice telling me, "This is the man I have chosen to restore all things to the Church." (More Than A Prophet, p 6.)

6. I saw the Bible surrounded by the publications of MM. Several bright rays were coming from the Bible and were reflected by the publications. (More Than A Prophet, p 23.)

7. Isaya Owak in Kenya was told: “Tell Malcolm that the books he is writing are not his, they are Mine.”
